About FertilityCare Practitioners

These instructors teach the mucus-only method known as the Creighton Model that relies primarily on cervical mucus observations for monitoring a woman’s fertility cycle. Additionally, this is the preferred method for those experiencing infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, and many other women’s health issues because it accesses Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology to treat and often cure these issues in a natural and medically effective way. Instruction is typically scheduled as one-on-one consultations with a trained female practitioner.

About CCL and Southern Star Practitioners

These instructors teach the Sympto-Thermal Method that relies both on daily basal body temperatures and cervical mucus observations to chart a woman’s fertility cycle. CCL stands for “Couple-to-Couple League” which is a group that also offers complete instruction in the sympto-thermal method online. Instruction is typically scheduled as either one-on-one consultations with a married couple trained to teach the method (though some group classes may be available as well as instruction with a trained female practitioner).

About Billings Practioners

These instructors teach the mucus-only method known as the Billings Method (named for the original physician Dr. John Billings who created it) that relies primarily on cervical mucus observations for monitoring a woman’s fertility cycle. Currently, the only Billings instructor available in the Diocese is in the Danville area.

About Marquette Practitioners

These instructors teach the mucus-only method known as the Marquette Method (named so after the university in Wisconsin) with the additional assistance of the ClearPlan Fertility Monitor that measures hormone levels in the woman’s urine to determine fertility. Currently there are no Marquette practitioners in the Diocese. However, all the tools necessary to learn this method are available online for those who are willing to teach themselves the bulk of the material with some virtual assistance as needed. Visit the Marquette University website for all the tools to learn this method. Couples learning this model need to buy a ClearPlan Fertility Monitor and test strips monthly.
