If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please contact the Center for Marriage, Family and Life at (804) 622-5109 or cmfl@richmonddiocese.org. Come join us for the Young Couples Retreat at Wintergreen Resort on April 13 – 14, 2018. This retreat is an opportunity for couples married 7 years or less to refocus on your relationship, celebrate your marriage, and engage your faith.  The retreat leaders will be Paul and Gretchen George. Paul and Gretchen have spent the past 20 years helping people discover the “art of living” through searching themselves, discovering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and finding true happiness. Throughout these years, Paul has served in various capacities including: president of a non-profit, speaker, mentor, consultant, coach, author, diocesan director, youth minister and college campus minister. But Paul’s role as a husband and father is his most cherished. His personal mission is to love God, his wife, his children and his neighbors as God loves me. After receiving an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas, Paul is blessed to have found a way to combine his love of teaching and serving others with his ability to inspire and ignite change in the lives of those around him. Paul and Gretchen have been married for over twenty years. They have five children: Marie, Jacob, Sarah, Clare and Addie. Through Christ, marriage and family has radically transformed them and they have found that there is no greater joy than to be loved unconditionally and to love unconditionally despite shortcomings. Registration costs $150 per couple and includes all meals, a hotel room, and access to Wintergreen amenities. Mass, Reconciliation, keynote presentations, and couple’s time will all be included in the retreat. Refunds for cancellations will not be available after March 15, 2018.

Family and the Domestic Church

Healthy family life grounded in God’s plan for marriage between one man and one woman is the backbone of a healthy society. The family is the privileged place in which people encounter Jesus and grow closer to Him. The Church takes this revelation seriously and seeks to provide good pastoral care for families at all stages of life.
